Owners

Mike & Shelle have owned Mike’s KARS since 1999, purchasing the business from Shelle’s parents, who started the business in 1981. Today, they have expanded the business and are well respected within the business and surrounding communities. Mike and Shelle believe and support continuing education for themselves and their staff. They continue to take and have completed many training programs provided by the Automotive Training Institute, Management Success, Napa Auto Care and other industry specific programs.

Mike is an ASE Certified Master Technician, with more than 30 years of experience in the automotive service industry. He also holds a certification as an Advanced Engine Performance Specialist (L1) and is a Pennsylvania State Safety Inspection Mechanic. Mike has also taken on the role of consultant for the Automotive Training Institute located in Linthicum, Maryland. This position allows him to share his knowledge and passion for the industry with other repair shops throughout the country.

Shelle earned an Associate’s Degree from Central Penn College in Specialized Business. Now the general manager of Mike’s KARS she is the driving force in the day to day operations. Her varied business background in the legal field and healthcare setting has served her well at Mike’s KARS.

Mike and Shelle have been married for 36 years and have 2 daughters and 4 granddaughters. Shelle loves spending time at home, gardening or reading a good book. She is also very passionate about supporting animal rescue organizations including the Sato Project where they have adopted 3 dogs for their furever home. Mike enjoys building projects (usually instigated by his daughters), restoring WWII jeeps and has recently brought the family farm back to life with crops and animals.

Service Advisor

Denise has been with Mike’s KARS since 2004 and is an icon at the front counter. She has a wealth of knowledge and experience in automotive service and has achieved the ASE certification as a Service Consultant. Denise keeps up-to-date in the industry by continuing to take classes at the Automotive Training Institute, NAPA and other industry specific events. She has even been featured in Ratchet & Wrench magazine sharing her insight into keeping a shop organized and efficient.

Denise is married and has 2 children and 2 grandchildren. She enjoys spending time at her pool, designing and making jewelry which is featured in local boutiques in Gettysburg, taking vacations to the beach and being around horses every chance that she gets.

Shop Foreman

Joey has over 20 years of experience with Mike’s KARS and brings this smile with him every day to work. It has been a pleasure watching him grow from a teenager learning the industry to becoming an ASE Master technician. He also maintains his Pennsylvania State Safety Inspection License and a MACS Air Conditioning Certification.

Joey is married and has one daughter. He enjoys spending time with his family and watching his daughter perform many different styles of dance. Joey has a great appreciation for the outdoors especially hunting and fishing.

Customer Service Representative/Admin Assistant

Kerri has been in the customer service industry for over 12 years and we are delighted to have her kind and friendly personality on our team. As our CSR she keeps things organized and running smoothly all while keeping our customers and our team happy.

Kerri is married, has 4 beautiful children (3 girls, 1 boy) and 1 adorable little dog named Dunkin. She enjoys spending time with her family, visiting zoos and never says no to a trip to the beach.
